For many of us in Michigan and parts of the Midwest it has been a long, dreary winter, so, we are eagerly anticipating spring, which has appeared briefly and retreated into days of gloominess, wind, and rain. Like the eternal optimist, spring promises that sunshine and happiness are right around the corner, despite all evidence to the contrary. I must be an optimist too, because I’ve been hunting spring down in my travels through Michigan, Iowa and Nebraska during the last few weeks. Here are 3 photos which, for me, best represent this joyful season:
Winter lingered so long in the lap of Spring that it occasioned a great deal of talk.–Bill Nye
I am going to try to pay attention to the spring. I am going to look around at all the flowers, and look up at the hectic trees. I am going to close my eyes and listen.–Anne Lamott

Life stands before me like an eternal spring with new and brilliant clothes.–Carl Friedrich Gauss
I hope that in your corner of the world warmer weather, blue skies, and happiness surround you too. And if not, here’s some music by Antonio Vivaldi which will cheer you up!
