WPC: The Icing on the Cake and a Pink Cherry on Top

Let me tell you, I’m not sure if America runs on donuts, but I sure do!  Nothin’ like a little simple sugar icing to get the blood pumping at 9:00 A.M.~Chris Benz
Today I returned to the gym after several weeks of injuries.  Needless to say, I was sluggish and sore after a few minutes.  So what did I do to distract myself?  Think of food, of course. Here’s some cake, icing, and cherries to stimulate your visual “taste buds.”  For this “cherry” challenge, I’d like to share three shots.  The first one was taken in Boston immediately before my sister and I started devouring these tea cakes at the Boston Public Library’s Courtyard Restaurant.   If you want a special treat, try their afternoon tea.  This is a just small sample of the sweets…with some icing of course.

A Smokebush Tree (Continus)

This afternoon, we visited Meijer Gardens after several hours of rain.  This pink Smokebush Tree was filled with raindrops glistening in the light.  What a gorgeous sight.  For me, it was a visual “cherry on top” in the Japanese Gardens.

Architectural “Icing” in Prescott, Arizona.

When you enter the town of Prescott, Arizona, you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.  This star at the top of the Hotel St. Michael caught my eye.  It is a bit of architectural and graphic “icing.”

Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will not die, but long after we are gone be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistence.~Daniel Burnham

And finally, have a great week, everyone!  I hope it’s a sweet one.  (Calorie-free, of course.)
