WPC: Frames in Life and Art

That’s rule number one for a photographer, isn’t it? Fill your frame?

Yes, David.  It is the number one rule in photography.  Fill your frame.

It’s been a crazy month, full of unexpected trips, and a sad farewell to Henry, our dear friend who has meant so much to our family.  Needless to say, this wasn’t the time for sightseeing and carrying around my DSLR, so I caught a few quick shots here and there with my smartphone as you can see in the 3 shots posted here.

But this week’s theme also resonates on a personal level.  Our dear friend, Henry, approached life with a smile and open arms.   That was how he ‘framed’  life.  Other people ‘frame’ it with arms crossed defensively or with eyes narrowed in suspicion.  Henry reminds us to face life with courage, honesty, a ready smile, and the certainty that there is good in all of us.

That’s my hope for us too as we face the future.

    I´m here looking at your blog with an iPad, and it looks amazing! It’s a magazine style blog, and so visual, which I really like. I know exactly what Cronenberg means by filling the frame. I’m obsessive about it. Filling the frame is what it’s all about, for me. Your shots clearly reflect this, also.

      I’m obsessing about the Fujifilm X100T. I can’t wait to borrow one to try it out. 🙂 Hope all’s well with you! I always enjoy hearing from you.

      • It’s a rangefinder type. They were used by Cartier-Bresson and are used for photojournalism a lot I believe, I also obsess about lots of equipment, if I told you, I’d never finish
