Monochrome Madness: Spider Web Duet

Auguries of Innocence
To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour  —William Blake

I shot this entry for Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness while I was walking to the office one morning last week after the election.   The sunlight caught a spider web hanging from a bough of a pine tree and drops of rain caught in its delicate geometry.  Its beauty stopped me in my tracks.

It reminded me of the power and beauty and healing of nature.  It reminded me that the littlest drop of rain seems insignificant, but when it mingles with other drops, it can, in time, become an ocean.  In the same way, each individual, no matter how small, has the power to be a force of good in the world.

In closing, I’ll quote my literary hero:

A mighty flame followeth a tiny spark.~Dante Alighieri

Have a great week, everyone.
