WPC: New Horizons in Vancouver and Seattle

We have always held to the hope, the belief, the conviction that there is a better life, a better world, beyond the horizon. ~Franklin D. Roosevelt

As 2016 inches towards the past, I am already looking ahead to 2017, hoping that it brings new vistas, new horizons, and new stamps on my passport.  As you may suspect, I am a restless soul, who is easily convinced to pack a suitcase.

For this week’s new horizon challenge, here are two new shots from our trips to Seattle and Vancouver–first-time visits to relatively new cities, with massive construction projects underway.  Despite their rapid growth, the beauty of these locations along the Pacific Coast still shines through.  These vistas opened up to us from the top of the Space Needle in Seattle and along Harbor View Road in Vancouver.

Traveling and meeting new people reassures me that life is a “box of chocolates” (to quote Forrest Gump), ready to be unwrapped and savored.   We may not know what we’re going to find when we take that first bite, but we can be reassured that taking a chance and leaving the safety of our own little corner of the globe bring their own rewards.

So, where is your next trip going to be?  Are you a homebody or a vagabond?  What’s one of your favorite spots in this vast, crazy world?

And last of all, have a great week, everyone.
