Monochrome Madness: Summer on the Cape

And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.
—F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

As a late winter storm swirls through Michigan and the East Coast of the USA this week, I am sending you a reminder of that summer will be here…in time.  For those of you who already in spring and summer….how lucky you are!

Storm on the Cape. Pocasset, Massachusetts. Shot with a Canon 40D.

This week’s entry to Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness photo challenge was shot on a summer’s day in Pocasset, Massachusetts on Cape Cod, where we visit dear friends.  This photo reminds me of the wonderful times we’ve spent with them–taking long walks, sharing thoughts about everything from politics and religion to ice cream.

Where’s your favorite place to relax in the summer?  Do you find serenity near the water, in the mountains, or in the desert?   We’re “water” people, who travel to several favorite spots–Lake Michigan, the Hamptons, the Cape.   One last question:  is it summer yet?
