Monochrome Madness: Taliesin West

Every great architect is – necessarily – a great poet. He must be a great original interpreter of his time, his day, his age.
~Frank Lloyd Wright

No ordinary bell. Taliesin West, Arizona. Shot with a Canon 40D.

In Frank Lloyd Wright’s mind, even a bell is a work of art.  As I toured Taliesin West, designed by Wright in the 1930’s as his winter home and architectural school in Scottsdale, Arizona, I was struck again and again by the beauty of the landscape, the strong, clean lines of his design, and the desert light.  They all worked together to visually delight us.

Submitted this week to Leanne Cole’s marvelous photo challenge, Monochrome Madness.

Have an inspiring week, everyone!

  1. I listened to a podcast about Taliesin (Wisconsin) a few weeks ago, but the hosts never mentioned that there is a location in Arizona. I bet it’s a fascinating place to visit. Falling Water is high on my list of places to visit as well.
