Well, I finally did it.  After months of researching and agonizing, I bought the Fuji X-T2 mirrorless camera.  I haven’t been disappointed. It is lighter than my Canon 70D and is perfect for traveling.  The Fuji lens are also amazingly sharp.  I bought the 16 to 55 mm Fuji lens (f 2.8) bundled with the camera and have been experimenting with it.  This weekend, I’m also trying out the 90mm Fuji lens (f2) on loan from Lens Rentals.com–a great way to “road test” cameras, lens, and other photographic equipment.

So here’s my collection of shots for this week’s textures theme.

Summer Beauty

These stunningly beautiful lilies grow in profusion at Meijer Gardens.  I spotted this one yesterday dappled by the sun and shadows.

  4. great shots with your new camera! I am still debating…but I am determined to buy a mirrorless as I have run into severe problems with my neck. My Nikon is very heavy – even if I love it…but I will have to buy a less heavy one. Glad to see how well your choice turned out.

  8. Cherries are one of my favorite summer fruits also. I think I’m going to invest in one of those handy gadgets that remove the pits. 🙂

    I admit that I didn’t know about a mirrorless camera, but if it lightens the load, I’m all for it. I’d love it if I could find something similar for binoculars!

  10. What beautiful captures of summer. I especially love the Holland State Park photo. The colors are incredible and it has a wonderful dreamlike quality. It’s exactly as I imagined the beach in a favorite childhood book of mine.

      • It’s a book by Mary Downing Hahn called The Jellyfish Season, set in Maryland. I don’t think the beach in it is nearly as beautiful as this one, but the mood and atmosphere, which is what I love about both the book and your photo, are the same.

      • I’ll have to add it to my US travel list! I’ve only been to New York and Massachusetts so far but would love to explore more of the east coast.
