Lens Artists Photo Challenge #56: Seascapes and/or Lakeshore

You’ve had a long, hard week.  You need a break.  Come with me to the seashore.  But, before we start packing, you’ll have to decide where we are going.  Here are a few choices.

In this part of Southern California, you can walk along the beach, pounded by the mighty Pacific Ocean.  The beach is wide and deep, with plenty of room for your umbrella and lounge chair.

Savusavu, Fiji

Your next choice is Fiji in the South Pacific.  Here, the waves are tranquil and the beach is quiet, except for an occasional thud from a coconut falling from the trees.

Your next choice is Cape Cod in Massachusetts.  Here is a view of Buzzards Bay, which meanders through several inlets before reaching the Atlantic Ocean.  In this shot, you can see storm clouds in the distance even on this sunny day.  The summers are relatively short in New England, but there’s plenty of time for sailing, picnics at the beach, and long walks along the shore.

Your last choice is the coast of Ireland, not far from Dublin.  We can take a short train ride to Graystones and then walk the 5 km path to Bray.  The path is filled with wildflowers and the occasional hum of the train, whistling in the distance.  Both places are charming and have great beaches and spots for lunch.

Have you decided where you want to go?  It’s not an easy decision.  Each place is unique and has its own charms.  To tell you the truth, you can’t go wrong no matter where you choose.  At the seashore, time stands still, and you have a chance to take a deep breath and simply let your cares and worries fall away.  In my book, that’s just about perfect.

  6. Beautiful gallery, Patti …. that railway from Dublin to Bray I been on quite a few time. In Bray, they have fantastic Lebanese restaurant that served a smoked lamb fillet to … nearly die for. Fantastic coastline. I would mind spending a couple of days on all your destinations.
