WPC: Expecting the Unexpected in Florence

If you do not expect the unexpected you will not find it, for it is not to be reached by search or trail.~Heraclitus
In its finest moments, traveling is a gift that can surprise and delight us.  During our adventures this year, we have spotted these little gifts that startle us, make us smile, and even laugh.  These gifts become part of our travel narratives.  I also welcome them because they can spark ideas that are woven into my creative projects.

I’d like to share some of these unlikely treasures from Florence–shot primarily on the fly with my Google Pixel 2 phone.

  1. Another winner! The door knockers were good but I was fascinated by ‘the girl with the pearl earring and goggles’! Now that was unexpectedly fantastic!

      • It is well here, thank you for asking! A bit busy in the garden and everything else – like we all are, I guess. I should not complain!

  2. Coincidentally, we both posted about Florence for the unlikely challenge! I enjoyed your pictures as they brought me back to my wanderings of Firenze side streets.

    • Isn’t that interesting, Jackie…that we both look at the same thing. Thanks so much for your kind words! I hope all’s well with you. Hope it’s sunny and warm in NYC!

    • Thanks, Sally. I have been doing a lot of “spying” recently!! Hope all’s well with you and that you’re enjoying your garden. 🙂

  3. What finds! I was wanting more fantastic door knockers which would send me into a fantasy land of the doors and the worlds beyond those doors. They must be spectacular if the knockers are any indication.

    • Hi, Bespoke! I just found another knocker that I will have to put into another post! So glad you like them. Hope all’s well with you. Happy travels!

    • Hi, Arati! It’s wonderful to hear from you. So glad you like the images. It’s so much fun discovering these treasures in our travels.
