  1. Love your challenge this week Patti, and your examples are terrific. My favorite of course is the street art. You have such an eye for that! Enjoyed the back story on that as well. Your salamander is great also – so hard to tell it’s not real! Looking forward to this week’s responses.

    • Hi Tina…yes, that salamander really tricked me! And Marlene…she was a great find. Glad you are enjoying this challenge. Looking forward to your photos, too. And have a good weekend!

  2. I saw Tina’s post before yours, Patti, so I already had a few ideas but I love your spin on this. That monument was a popular spot for suicides so they had to make it secure at the top, but it doesn’t detract from the look.

  3. All round wonderful Patti. I was hoping that you didn’t think the Salamander was real, but it is a great piece of decoration. I love the Marlene Dietrich street art. Now off to have a “what to post” think 🤔

  4. I love the images you have chosen for this very interesting challenge. First I will investigate well the meaning of On the Edge… I want to choose the photographs carefully to participate. How exciting, in addition to having fun with the photos, I learn new expressions! Thank you, Patti.

    • You really expanded the theme this week, showing us a castle on the edge of ruin! Fascinating. I love those sites for their sense of history and the “ghosts” of the past. Thanks for your kind words about my images. I’ve found two more Leidensis portraits in Florence this weekend! I’m so happy! Have a great week, Sofia. I hope all’s well.

    • Hi Andre. Thanks for joining us on the edge! It was a bit of a challenge, but ultimately a lot of fun. The first and last images here seem to be the favorites this week. I found 2 more Leidensis images this weekend in Florence. I’m delighted! And thanks so much for joining us. Your photos are always terrific.

  5. I think all four are great choices and contrast each other well. It appears a difficult topic, but it’s surprisingly open when you start looking, so most people will find loads of images that will work.

  6. Thank you for hosting Patti! I chuckled when I read your comment after seeing the first photo. I was saying to myself “I looked and checked twice. He’s NOT real.” I wonder how long it took them to carve those lions! WOW. The hill photo made my palms sweat. And the edgy one is a delightful addition to the collection you shared. I’m sure my pingback didn’t work so here’s my take on the fun prompt. Again, thanks for hosting!! https://www.quaintrevival.com/will-the-mrs-learn-how-to-ration-the-photos-she-takes-or-not/

    • Hi Andy. Many thanks! Glad you like those images. Marlene was a happy find in Florence not too long ago. Yesterday I found another one by the same artists. 🙂

  7. Ok. I admit I looked a little closer at the lizard too, and since it appears to be smiling, it’s all good. Interesting art. A great shot, and a fun challenge. So many avenues to take the theme as you showcased, but our trip to Edge of the World was a must, since the timing was right. I especially loved the Dietrich portrait. Thank you for this, Patti.

    • Hi Siobhan. I’m so happy to hear that you like the lion! He’s magnificent. The marble (or granite) stairway is stunning. I enjoyed your collection, too. So glad you shared your collection.

    • Hi John. Glad you enjoyed the “edgy edges”–and especially Marlene. I found Mother Teresa and Princess Leah more recently. I’m adding to my “collection” as I find them! Looking forward to your collection, too.

I thought the salamander was real until I read that it wasn’t, haha!
    Love the Scott Monument angle!
